Recipe from "cape breton pictorial cookbook" - a gift from my aunt babara
Ingredients:
- 1 cup soft butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation:
- in a bowl, cream butter, vanilla and sugar until light and creamy
- gradually add the flour 1/4 cup at a time mixing well after each addition
- add just enough so dough can be gathered into a ball
- knead dough on a floured surface until smooth
- roll dough to 1/4" thickness
- cut in desired shapes with floured cutter
- place on ungreased baking sheet
- bake 300f for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned
