Categories:
bread
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups water
2 tbsp vegetable oil, margarine or butter
3/4 tsp salt
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 tbsp dried onion flakes
1 tsp each dried rubbed sage leaves and savory leaves
1/8 tsp pepper
1 1/4 tsp bread-machine yeast
2/3 cup dried cranberries
2/3 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Preparation:
Add all ingredients except cranberries and nuts to machine according to manufacturer's directions.
Select basic white bread cycle.
Add fruit and nuts at ingredient signal (or 20 to 30 minutes into cycle).
Notes:
We substituted a little bit less thyme for the savory.
Variations:
Substitute poultry seasoning for the sage and savory.
Substitute 1/2 to 3/4 tsp each ground sage and ground savory for the rubbed sage leaves and savory leaves.
Substitute whole-wheat flour for half of the white flour to get a more compact and nutritious loaf.
