little mermaid birthday cake

Ingredients:

• 1 package cake mix
• 1 pack banana pudding
• bananas
• Little Mermaid Polly Pocket figurine set
• candy rocks (from Bulk Barn)
• candy flowers and fish (from Bulk Barn)
• blue sugar crystals
• cream cheese icing (mostly tinted blue for water, a bit of white for sea foam, and a bit of green for seaweed)
• yellow chocolate melts (from Bulk Barn)

Preparation:

• I made 2 cakes using a heart shaped springform pan for the 2 layers of the cake. Once cooled I used banana slices and banana pudding as the center filling between the 2 layers.
• I iced the entire cake with blue cream cheese icing.
• I piped white cream cheese icing around the edge for sea foam as well as some waves spraying against the edge of the cake.
• I placed the Ariel, Flounder and Sebastian figurines on the cake and surrounded them with fish candies and blue sugar crystals.
• Then came the candles.
• I also piped Samantha's name using melted yellow chocolate (which I had left over from something else) at the front of the cake.
• Next I placed the flower candies around the candles, Sam's name and along the side of the cake and piped some green seaweed leaves with the flowers.
• The cake was finished with candy rocks all around the cake.
