My Snowy Owl Experience

I decided to head back and try my luck at spotting the snowy owl. No luck needed… Just park beside the other dozen cars that are already there!I thought that because it wasn’t the weekend that there wouldn’t be people there, boy was I wrong.

I walked over to check out the snowy owl, took some pics, and then headed back out. It felt more like going to a zoo to take photos as opposed to spotting an animal in the wild, so my enjoyment level was only a 5/10.

The fact that the group of photographers had a cooler with live mice and were feeding the owl just didn’t seem right. But maybe that’s the world of birding?

I was the only person there without a fancy camera… so my pics are as good as I could get with my point and click camera. One day, when I can afford it, maybe I’ll get a real camera and telezoom lens, take photos in raw format and learn to use lightroom in order to post edit them to perfection.
