Day 1 - Edmunston

On the first day we stopped just north of Edmunston, New Brunswick

we stayed at La Republique Provincial Park

After filling our bellies we checked out the playground.

Besides slides, tunnels seem to be a favourite with Samantha.

it's tough playing volleyball with no ball, no team mates and no opponents.

Poppa, I'm pretty sure there's a geocache around here somewhere!

We checked out the adjacent Botanical Garden but didn't go inside.

At the entrance building they had a display of interesting bugs like the stick bug...
do you see it?

Samantha and poppa playing with toys made of various kinds of wood.

A very limp cactus caught our eye.

More flowers out in full bloom.

For not paying to get in, we sure saw a lot at the botanical gardens!

This bison was hiding out back... must have been used in a display sometime.

The provincial park has a very small hiking trail so we went and saw
the ducks in the pond and also saw a cedar waxwing.

We hadn't reserved a site so all that was left were the grassy ones.

Hello poppa!

Hey poppa! Where's the food?!

The good thing is that if the cook is on strike you can find some wild raspberries instead.

Careful Samantha... you might fall...!

Down, down, down...

... And right back up again!
