Day 3: Moncton - Round 1 Continued

We spent Day 3 of our vacation in Moncton with Grandma & Grandpa. Besides going to Magnetic Hill to visit the zoo and the train, we spent some time at the local playgrounds, going geocaching, eating yummy food, and just hanging out.

Sammy woke up with a puffy eye... I guess she's learned she'd better listen to Grandma and Grandpa! ;-) Actually, a black fly bit her right at the corner of the eye and caused it to puff up.

Samantha took Grandma & Grandpa for a walk

Bryan and Murielle's house... for not much longer!

Bryan's mug shot...
ok, Bryan is showing the high water mark in Moncton from a storm in 1869.

Rubby chuckles as the tourists gather to wait for the tidal bore to come in. I hope someone sticks around to identify it for them so that they don't miss it!

Anchors away!

While waiting for the tidal bore, Samantha learns about the mysteries of burs.

Birds swimming about at low tide in the chocolate river.

Rubby and Murielle chatting as they wait for that massive tidal bore.

OK, since the bore is taking its sweet time, let's do the Irish Memorial geocache nearby.

Rubby, is that the tidal bore behind you? (Looking at the picture now, I'm really not sure if that was it in the background... impressive, isn't it? *grin*)

There it is! The great tidal bore!

Everyone agreed this was probably the most impressive view of the tidal bore they have seen. hmmmm...

Rubby following the strange pedestrian crossing signs in Moncton.

Another urban geocache... looks like the last geocacher lost his pants here.

Sail away, sail away, sail away!

The new memorial for the Acadian "Derangement" (deportation)

Prepared the chanterelles (Schwammerl) she found in the woods yesterday.

After dinner the grandparents of Moncton gather for the annual showing off of the grandkids from Ontario.

Samantha obviously takes after her parents in the math department... yay Sammy!

It's day 2 of our visit and Grandma's starting to look a little tuckered!

Sigh... I'm sure Samantha will be so proud of her 'cool' daddy as she grows up....

Samantha tries out a new playground feature.

A chestnut tree.

Plane! Plane! Samantha look! It's a plane!

hidden in plain sight

And then this giant white thing popped out of nowhere!

Hmmmm, I wonder if the Leon's people were starting to wonder about the two weirdos poking around the tree at the street corner.
