Today we drove for most of the day from Moncton to Cape Breton and to our campsite at the Cheticamp entrance of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Along the way we stopped for lunch at Maryville Beach. We also stopped to see Joe's Scarecrows and had a little break for ice cream.
At the causeway we get our first welcome to Cape Breton.
We took the Ceilidh Trail scenic coastal route to get to the Cabot Trail.
Is the water here a little higher than usual?!
Then again, here the water level seems a little low.
Think we'll meet up with the Rankin family here in Mabou?
Maybe they're having lunch at the Red Shoe Pub?
Too bad, Samantha's sleeping so we'll never find out.
But Samantha woke up quickly enough when she heard there was ice cream!
Mommy, I want some of yours too!
Samantha checked out the view... and then came back for more ice cream.
Our first bald eagle sighting.
An acadian moment.
