Canada Day

July 1, 2007

We had a lovely day for a Canada Day potluck lunch and the afternoon was spent outside in the backyard playing games and chatting. The whole family was there... nevilles, lehmanns and hayeks.

Raja didn't even participate in the Fort Wellington visit but he's already ready for a snooze!

Helena and Joe are quick to find nature's toys...
a grass fishing pole and a cattail drumstick.

How many Hayeks does it take to ride a tricycle?

The bocce masters take the game very seriously.

Khalil's turn to try and beat the current champion.

Joe's having fun taking a ride on Sam's wheels.

Sam sits back to watch as Joe tries out the slide and Raja takes a turn on the rings.

Hey, what are those guys over there doing?

Time for Samantha to take Helena's white ball for a ride in the car.

It's obvious that the soccer lessons are paying off for Helena!

Who's sillier - Samantha or Tante Silly?

Helena is ready with the truck as Bryan collects more grass clippings with the mower.

Ooops! As fast as Bryan can collect the grass, the kids are able to dump it elsewhere!

Sam and Joe help Helena gather up her dumped cargo.

While Helena diverts Rubby with a butterfly hunt, Joe sneaks a snack at the currant bush.

More acrobatics on the play structure.

Samantha and Helena enjoy a toy sharing moment.

Rubby manning the BBQ.

Mmmmmm, maple walnut cheesecake with icecream and strawberries!

Samantha makes sure there's not a spot left on her plate.

Despite the full bellies, we still managed to set up and play a few games of horseshoes.
