Lebanese Festival

July 18, 2007

Did our annual trip to the Lebanese Festival with the Hayeks. The kids enjoy the rides, the adults go for the food. One day when the kids are old enough we will again be able to stay later to actually enjoy some of the cultural shows like the singing and dancing. *grin*

Sammy wearing her Austrian dirndl...
at least the colours are appropriate for the Lebanese festival!

The Lebanese flags at the Beirut lounge.

Hmmmm, interesting palm trees.

We're all hungry!

Sammy, do you 'feel awful'? (falafel!)

The most we get to see of the dancing show is a practice run before all the crowds gather.

Instead we get to see the kids' version of the dance.

The festival is hosted at St. Elias church.

Choo! Choo! All aboard!

This is the first year Sammy is old enough to go on some of the rides.

OK, some rides she'll still have to wait for.

Giddyup horsey!

Riding, riding, riding, riding....

The colourful prize ponds are enticing.

Sammy got a Schnecke (snail) prize!

Tears ensue as Samantha is told she can't actually keep the ducky.

Local media sighting.

Sylvia smiles for the camera.

Time to check out some of the Lebanese wares.

Wheeeeeeeeee!!!!!

The ride is over and it's time to go home.
