Day 4 - july 8
grand manan

Day 4 did not start well for us... both mom and dad were sick as dogs with a stomach flu. Camping with a toddler and a year old is one thing, doing it when both parents have the flu is a whole other ball game. We decided that sitting around camp with stir crazy kids was worse than the alternative so we decided to head out.

After yet another failed cache attempt we decided to go visit Swallowtail light house. That was a good decision... the weather was beautiful and we took turns lying down and watching the kids while picking strawberries for them to eat.

For lunch we headed to the Hole in the Wall Campground and had a picnic. Then we did the short hike down to the actual hole in the wall. Sam had a great time spotting all the 'guardians' along the trail.

Samantha had fun making a lupine garden out of seashells and rocks which she then dedicated to the whale mentioned on the nearby signs who had perished after being hit by a boat. It being our last evening on the island, Sam then took her camera to record all the places and things she wanted to remember about campsite 66.
