July 5 - 25, 2008
We met up with the whole aunt colony and friends at the Sydney mall... a Saturday morning tradition we've been told. It was especially cute to see Samantha and hailee hit it off so well... Samantha ran up to Hailee to introduce herself. Hailee who was dressed up in a fancy dress asked Sam "Do you like my dress?" Sam did, and then, still dressed in her camping outfit (aka longjohns), asked hailee: "Do you like my clothes?". And they were inseparable from then on.
After the mall we followed everyone to Harveys for lunch and then we stopped by Aunt Barbara's to get cleaned up for the big party. Samantha made another new friend... Raggles the dog.
Then we went to Aunt Marilee's for the big birthday party for Aunt Florence and Aunt Laurie. The whole gang was there and there was tons of yummy food. We hope we didn't seem like total pigs but hey, we'd just been camping for almost 2 weeks and everything tasted sooooo good! And while mom and dad were chowing down, Christopher in the meantime was enjoying a whack load of attention from everyone!
These cape bretoners sure know how to throw a good party!
Christopher couldn't care less about the food at Harveys...
he's thinking all the attention from Aunt Doris is way better!

Samantha and hailee... there's potential for a whole new generation of Harveys tradition!
The kids seem quite happy to play with Aunt Barbara while mom and dad get cleaned up.
Christopher is not quite sure what to make of this bath thing...
2 weeks of camping grime about to come off!
Back at Marilee's house, it doesn't take Samantha and hailee long to find each other again.
Christopher gets to hang out with tasha for a bit.
Samantha is getting chocolote fountain lessons from Doris.
hailee doesn't need any lessons... she's already a pro!
Samantha seems a little awestruck by all this chocolate.
Marilee is missing her own baby and feels the need to hang with Christopher for a bit.
Mmmmmm, chocolate!
Laura and Dylan get some housewarming gifts.

How did Barbara manage to pry Christopher away from Marilee?
Christopher continues to make the rounds as he hangs out with Florence for a bit.
Happy Birthday Laurie and Florence!
The kids admire their own beautiful decorating work and wonder when they can take a bite.

Glow stick time!
Sam helps Aunt Laurie open her presents... oooh! The Cape Breton 3 step diet program... a fork with 2 tines, a fork with 1 tine and (for maximum weight loss), a fork with no tines!
Sam and hailee would gladly help with the m&ms as Florence and Laurie contemplate who should get the 'old age pills'.
Judging by her smile, the 'pills' must be happy ones!
A tired hailee cuddles up to her mommy.
Laura, the new house owner, was the lucky recipient of a
cape breton penny pincher (penny in a clothespin)
Hmmmm, who will they give the Cape breton face lift (duct tape) to?
Laurie has no hesitation as to who will be the recipient of the Cape Breton Wiener Washer (soap with a hole drilled in it)... Gary?
Florence with a can of Cape Breton bubble bath... Instructions: Eat, then have a bath.
