Maritimes - Summer 2008

July 5 - 25, 2008

Day 19 - july 23
mactaquac, fredericton & louise and pierre

Done with all the geocaching in the area, it was time to leave Parlee Beach. Given that we'd stayed at 3 different New brunswick provincial campgrounds, we had earned ourselves a free night so we thought we'd shorten our trip home by staying at Mactaquac outside of Fredericton. Samantha was quite excited to stay at the site with the funny name and there were still a couple of earthcaches around Fredericton that we'd missed earlier in our trip. So as not to have a repeat of the campground being full upon arrival, we made sure to arrive early in the day to set up.

We did a quick calendar check and realized that Bryan and Murielle were slated to be in Fredericton at the same time as us so we called up to see if we could meet up with folks. We ended up being invited over to Louise and Pierre's house where Louise treated us to a wonderful dinner and Samantha was treated to a swim in the pool.

A Mactaquac deer.

One of the local cache sites on the way to Louise and Pierre's.

Hey, it's Grandpa again!

The kids are quite excited to see Tante Louise.

The Rioux pool looks very inviting!

Samantha is intrigued by the stairs to the pool.

Christopher is content to watch from the sidelines.

This boat looks a little shaky!

Are we relaxed yet?

Grandma takes Christopher to get his toes wet.

The crowd watches.

Testing out a second boat.

Swimming makes you hungry and this dessert looks scrumptious!

It tastes as good as it looks!

The Cormiers stop by for a quick visit... soon we'll see them back in Ontario.
