August 4 to 21, 2009
how fitting, august 15th is "LA journée national des acadien et acadiennes" and we are doing the acadian trail!
on our way up, we ran into a group of cachers coming down and they were amazed that we were going to do the cache.... we ran into them again the next day and they congratulated sam on a great hiking job.
Here is a snippet of the cache description:
"This cache is placed on the Acadian trail - 8.4 km (loop).
Trail is smooth in some parts but has fist size rocks and roots in several places, trail on the right leads through a steep valley, satelite reception is poor but returns when you reach the summit of the trail.
Recomended route to the cache is to keep to the left trail and then follow the other trail on the return Not recomended for small children."
the trail information sign
sam checks out the 8km+ trail that we need to hike.

one last look before we start the 4km+ trek back down.
the vegetation is much different on the way down.
