Aug 15: beach
after a long hard and hot day of hiking... it was time to spend the rest of the day at the beach!
heading back towards a beach.
this is part of the skyline trail.
if you look closely, you can see people hiking at the top.
of course everyone deserved ice cream today!
while we were eating, a couple of RCmp officers gave the kids some stickers!
with the weather, it was a busy day at the beach
so we headed over to a quieter section.
a beautiful area
sam is ready to get wet
and christopher joins in the fun.
ahhhh... so refreshing.
after taking a quick dip to cool off, the kids decided they were ready for supper.
a little stove
and a picturesque view
time to head back to the water.
enough time has past since supper... time to go back into the water!
kids pick up rocks.
what a fun way to end the day.
playing "ploumps" in the waves.
running back and forth with the waves.
christopher gets more and more brave with the ocean as the vacation goes on.
which makes him enjoy it even more

the day is getting closer to it's end
time for another round of "ploumps"
the kids never seem to get tired of throwing rocks into water.
sam throws a good one.
the sun is starting to fade away
christopher throws one last rock.
people are slowly leaving the beach
little footprints in the sand.
christopher finally got overtired (way past his bedtime and no naps)
lots of driftwood.
a boat
sam hasn't gotten tired yet.
and wants to stay all night
another boat and a hiker
we finally head back towards the car.
the few remaining people are also starting to pack up for the day.
