You can put your name on a waiting list with the ottawa library in order to get free passes to the local museums. our turn came up this week, so off we went to the museum... and as usual the kids had a blast.
we're here!
so much to look at... where to start?
let's get ready to go on our adventure
first the news stand... then the post office.
bus ride!
bike ride
the kids are ready to prepare a snack.
gotta make sure you use the right ingredients
Christopher goes for some sushi
a snack for sammy
can't forget to make poppa a cofee!
how do we start this thing?
like my new shoes?
picking up some seafood for supper
and some fruits too
look at the mexican cowboy & cowgirl
gotta make some tortillas
press hard... and voila!
ewwww... christopher just cut the cheese!
working the crane down at the port.
now for some real hard work.
lift with your legs... not your back!
sam decides to be a supervisor instead.
so many jobs to do... next!
arrrrrr... move out of the way!
sam decides to scare momma by pretending that she wants to work for customs! ;)
this look like a nice place for a rest
but first a drink and a snack.
ahhh. much better.
time to explore the pyramids.
christopher feels like king tut.
off for a camel ride!
taking a break in the desert.
is this really water or just a mirage?
the kids enthusiams never ends!
what country would make us take off our shoes?
japan!
that's for sitting on christopher... i wouldn't put my face on there!
what are these for?
this game is much easier for Christopher
although sam enjoys building a log house
wow... so many books, if only there was a librarian to help me...
... meet sam the librarian!
your calling for Doctor who!?! ;)
play time over, must clean up.
we head to some of the other sections of the museum
even though it's not the children's museum, sam is quite excited
haida statue
going up to the postal museum
some fancy mailboxes
and some even fancier home ones.
sam is writting her name in hieroglyphics
lots of stamps
even a stamp puzzle
next a quick trip across canada
looks like we also travelled back in time a bit.
what's a boat doing in the middle of the town?
the street are dark and quiet... almost creepy.
maybe we should pop into a local cafe
no live band... but some great tunes.
sun rise on the prairies.
or is it sun set?
next we visit the mystical creatues, like dragons
and sea serpants
not sure what mystical creature this was supposed to be
finally we share some memories, and then head back home.
