"The annual original Rural Ramble in the Ottawa Valley is celebrating its 15th anniversary.
This traditional self-guided driving tour takes visitors through the various agricultural and rural operations of the scenic Ottawa Valley countryside. From learning about the rich Valley heritage and culture, to wagon rides and finding your way through hay, bale and corn mazes – there's something for everyone. Each site provides visitors with the opportunity to experience rural living first-hand by offering hands-on activities, demonstrations, guided tours and much more.
Some activities a Rambler can do include: visiting a cattle, dairy, organic or hobby farm to meet farm animals, exotic animals and reptiles. Watch a dogsled team in action! Visit a sugar bush, nursery or pumpkin patch; tour a museum or cave; learn about the production of honey, butter churning and sauerkraut making; watch artists at work and create your own masterpiece; tour a radio station and speak on-air; try your hand at pottery, embroidery, wool spinning, weaving and quilting; enter a zucchini contest; sample delicious homebaked goods and locally produced products."
