November 6-29, 2009
Despite our hopes of having an early start, the kids were obviously tired from yesterday and given that we didn't want to wake Christopher, we headed out later than we'd hoped.
Our 'kitchen'. Rubby doing dishes and getting some food ready for today's outing.
Besides the kitchen, the front room had a little dining area where
Sam is eating her breakfast and the day bed where Rubby slept.
The bedroom where Samantha slept on the bed and
Christopher slept on the floor on the mattress from the pullout part of the day bed.
Christopher sleeping in his 'nest'.
This trip was Christopher's first experience not sleeping in a crib other than on camping trips.
The bathroom.
The office at the back and our car parked to the side.
View from the balcony. Being on the outskirts of town meant there was a lot of
construction but we also got a great deal on a very new and clean apartment hotel.
More construction across the street.
The kids on the balcony in front of our apartment.
These raised baskets are for garbage. The height may prevent stray dogs from tearing at the garbage,
but without a lid, the garbage often just gets blown out by the wind.
Getting ready to head out.
Sammy brings her cat "Silver" and her colouring stuff along for the car ride.
Leaving Puerto Madryn we spotted an elegant-crested tinamou with two baby chicks along the road.
Leaving the city you see where the garbage all ends up... strewn across the countryside.
Garbage, garbage everywhere... this will be remembered as one of Samantha's first lessons about the importance of recycling, waste management and not making so much garbage in the first place.
So we've left Puerto Madryn, now which way to Punta Ninfas? Oh, just go straight! ;-)
