Maritimes - Summer 2008

July 5 - 25, 2008

Day 18 - July 22: Parlee Beach, Dune de Bouctouche, Spring, & Dorchester Copper Mine

Despite the campsite being cramped and crowded with neighbours just a couple of feet away on all sides, we were happy to have had a quiet night. And in the morning we headed off for a day of exploring the earthcaches in the area. The weather cooperated once more (at this point we were quite happy that we hadn't let a rainy forecast scare us into heading home early!).

Our first earthcache for the day was the Dunes de Bouctouche. Always a fun place to visit, Samantha really enjoyed the interactive visitor centre and playing on the beach. Then we went out of our way to pick up the last artesian well cache in the area. Next on the list was the Dorchester Copper mine. Finally we finished off the day with a pizza supper at Parlee Beach, theoretically a local 'warm' spot for swimming (I guess temperature is a relative thing in the maritimes!)
