For a couple of years now we've talked about doing a day trip to go to Montreal and visit the biosphere. Then a couple of weeks ago a geocaching event came up... a georallye at the biosphere! Sounded interesting so we decided to go.
As it got closer we waffled... the weather was iffy, we were tired from all out other activities, and we weren't sure whether this georallye thing was going to be very exciting. We decided to see if Sam had an opion. Hey Sam, do you want to go to Montreal this weekend? 'Ya, ya, ya!' came the reply... 'can we go on the bridge?!' Cause that's what Samantha remembers about Montreal... the big curvy windy bridges. In fact pretty much anytime we go on a big bridge she asks if we're going to the States or if we're in Montreal. *grin* For that matter, Christopher enjoyed the bridges too... pretty much the whole way through Montreal the sounds of "Wheeeeeeeee!!!!!" came from the back seat.
The kids enjoyed the Biosphere (aka the big bubble) too. The georallye ended up being a little tour of the island with 8 stations to learn about solar energy, cartography, fossils, etc. For each station you got a set of coordinates to go find a cache where you had to collect some information and answer a question. Between the stations and some of the regular geocaches we had a nice tour of the island. Then Samantha and Christopher had fun at the playground and we finished off the day going up in the tower of the biosphere as well as exploring some of the exhibits since the admission was free for the day. And the weather held out... sunshine pretty much all day long.
