The drive was wonderful, but it's hard for the kids to see properly from the backseat of the car and we wanted to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery. So when we spied a little path heading down to the river, we jumped on the chance to stretch our legs and have a little picnic snack. The path went down from the road through a grassy area and came to the edge of the river where the kids had a great time "fishing" and playing ploumps. We also took some time to look at some of the plants and to check out some more of the cool bugs we saw.
In the heart of the Valle Encantada.
Along the path down to the river.
Pretty flowers on the trees.
A couple of rock arches in the distance.
Rubby and Samantha heading down to the river.
Are those caves up there?
There are almost no clouds left in the sky!
Close-up of one of the rock arches.
Christopher and Samantha having fun playing ploumps.
And Rubby relaxing...
...and enjoying the scenery.
Sammy throws a big one!
Lots of silly giggling. :)
Teehee!
The one on the right looks like a giant morel mushroom.
You have to focus on the trees to appreciate the size of the rock formations.
Christopher is having fun.
Did we mention the beautiful scenery?
Panoramic view of the Valle Encantada.
A cactus plant of some sort.
Is that snow on the mountains in the background?
More rock formations.
Time to head back to the car and move on.
But not before taking the time to smell the flowers and roll in the grass!
Some of us reluctantly follow behind.
The blue, blue waters of the Rio Limay.
Another stop to take some photos.
Beautiful vistas everywhere... it's hard to get anywhere fast!
