pre-launch lesson
we arrive and the canoe stayed on the car... i really need to learn how to tie knots properly.
the kids are excited.
a bit of playing and then they head over to get their lesson
the captain watches over his boat.
the lesson begins
going over some of the safety rules.
christopher pays attention too.
the kids take turn saying what they should bring on a boat in order to be safe.
lots of interesting answers.
the kids testing out the safety rope.
sam listens very intensely
pete explains that you should also bring a bailer.
christopher is starting to get impatient.
but the lesson is almost over.
now pete explains what the different sections of the boat are called.
the port side...
..stern... etc.
now pete teaches the kids the proper way to hold their paddles.
everyone is listening very well.
christopher gets up high to get a better view
pete now explains the proper way to get into a canoe.
now that everyone understands the rules...
.. time to load up the canoes.
others launch a row boat.
