the research station

Since the weather was nice and the kids had so much fun playing in the water and at the playground, we didn't reserve much time for the "research station". In the end that didn't matter too much since a lot of the funnest parts like the shark and the electronic floor game weren't even working. The kids did however spend a bit of time colouring and took some extra sheets to finish up at home.

They also had a chance to take their completed activity books to the gift shop where they had the choice of getting a button or a special rock. Sam (aka future geologist) immediately chose a rock and Christopher of course followed his big sister in her choice.

Ammonites hanging from the ceiling.

The shark has not fared will since last year... he's not nearly as scary when he's broken and can't move!

The electronic floor game isn't working either.

Watch out! He's gonna eat us!

A giant fossil on display.

There are lots of fossils for the kids to see and touch.

Lots of activities for kids and grown-ups alike.

When the kids have finished their "research" questions, they get their books stamped.

And as a reward they get to pick out a special rock too!

Time for some colouring fun.

Christopher is making his dinosaur rainbow coloured.

Opa supervises the colouring activities.

Lots of shiny rocks at the gift shop.
