June 18 - Hexenwasser: Barefoot path

One of the trails around Hexenwasser is a barefoot path which is meant to be walked in your bare feet (which is supposed to be really healthy for your feet). Along the way there are play areas, and lots of different textures to walk over.

What could be more fun than a wet sandbox?!

Samantha is on her way to becoming a water engineer.

Happy as a clam!

Some deep thoughts and play on words along the path.

A witch turned to stone.

Barrels for washing rocks to make them smooth.

A water wheel outside turns the barrels inside.

Rock table.

A geocache along the way.

Apparently walking throught this gunk is good for you...
well at least it puts a smile on your face and everyone around as well!

Rubby has a turn too... his feet don't look much different from usual. ;-)

Hey, where did Sammy and Oma's heads go?

The view across Hexenwasser to the Kaisergebirge.

... while Sammy tests out the various textures of the wooden boards.

Flowers.

A dandelion on the alpine meadows.

The lift to Hohe Salve.

The bee house... a little interpretive centre on the Austrian bee and honey industry.

Honey combs and bee hives.

Glass displays which allow you to see the bees coming in from outside.

80 years of the Soell bee keeping association.

Samantha still has energy left to burn.

Rubby enjoyed the playground almost as much as the kids!

The Hexenwasser gift shop...
aka the 'gold kettle' since Hexenwasser has been such a huge money making success.

baby goats.

Christopher riding a tricycle.

The boat ride is very popular with the kids.
