Aug 6: fundy national park - day 1

jr. naturalist

one of the great things about fundy national park is that they have a junior naturalist program, which challenges kids to attend activities and explore the park in order to answer questions.... there are 6 levels to this program. last year Sam got her level one, and this year christopher is hoping to do the same, while samantha goes for her level 2.

time to go outside for a break

lots of beautiful flowers everywhere.

I tried to convince sam to take a few steps back... but she knew better.

"tank talk". one of the interpretive activites where a park person explains all about the various animals in the tank.

time to go back outside for another activity.

this time we are learning about the native garden just outside the centre.

and finally a hands on composting demonstration.

this small one was a little tough to spin

and this bigger one was just a little too much for sam to do alone.
