May 21-25, 2010
although it was a hot day, the cool breeze coming from being on the water made it not so pleasant to be outside. sam enjoyed the fact that there wa a kids room inside the ferry... and they were playing finding nemo (in French).
everyone getting off the ferry.
waiting for the light to turn green.
we get the go ahead.
into the ferry we go.
through the ferry and right up to the front of the boat.
we can see some sail boats
we can also keep an eye on the car.
grandma and sam explore the ferry.
a life boat.
lots of little corridors.
the view of the marina
and the church
a sailboat coming into the marina.
how come they can only fit 18 kids... but they can fit 82 adults?
flags
waiting for the ferry to take off.
things to learn while waiting.
the history of the ferry
and we are off!
it's about an hour and 15 minutes crossing.
planes scratching the sky.
the mountains on the other side of the st-lawrence river.
the water is still salty.
it was a little chilly out on the water.
the view was a little hazy today.
we didn't see any whales... but we did see a seal (this is the best photo I have of it)
we can see st siméon in the distance.
the half way marker.
everyone is getting excited for the ride to be over.
almost there.
pedestrians get off first.
now it's our turn
lots of people waiting to get on
whales are this way!
but we are going that way!
one day.. I'll be driving one of these.
