Pumpkin Party

Pumpkin Patch

Every year we head out to the local "Pumpkin Patch" to get the pumpkins for our pumpkin party. It's not actually a pumpkin patch, more of a vegetable stand at the corner of Bankfield and Prince of Wales with giant piles of pumpkins, lots of scarecrows and a few nice displays that make great fall photo ops.

The kids always have fun running around and checking out all the different kinds of pumpkins and gourds and then they get rides with their pumpkins in the little wagons provided. We also try and get all the kids together for a group shot on the big wagon they have decorated with hay bales, corn stalks and pumpkins.

Arriving at the "Pumpkin Patch".

Hey! ;-)

Putting on extra sweaters and mittens... it's a bit of a chilly day!

Loads and loads of pumpkins!

The gourds and pumpkins come in many shapes, colours and sizes.

Samantha liked how this pumpkin was carved and decorated.

As happy as a pumpkin in a patch!

Some of these pumpkins are bigger than Christopher.

Gabrielle had a busy day with dance and swimming so it was a great surprise
that she was able to at least make it to the pumpkin patch. :)

Samantha posing with the white pumpkins.

They only had a small pile of these bumpy pumpkins this year...
although they look cool, they are extremely tough to carve.

Rubby takes the kids for a ride around the pumpkin piles to check out the scarecrows.

Some REALLY scary scarecrows! ;-)

Gabrielle taking advantage of one of the photo ops set up.

Christopher's turn!

Samantha's not interested in having her photo taken; she'd rather play in her teepee.

Within seconds of her arrival Maia had picked out her pumpkin. The sign in the background says it all!

An overview of the piles of pumpkins and the vegetable stand.

Christopher also chose a white pumpkin and then had fun riding around in the cart with it.

More folks arriving.

Sophie and Alexandre have a relaxing photo shoot.

I know they're pumpkins, but this looks like a great Christmas card!

The Sophie monster is so scary that even the scarecrows are hiding head first in the pumpkins!

Sophie and the pumpkin she picked out.

Joe and George being silly.

Helena, Samantha, Joe, George and Christopher with the poor guy who got "squash"ed under the pumpkins.

Cadence and Samantha meet up.

Christopher's best friend today is Helena since she was willing to pull him all around the patch.

This guy is here to make sure everyone behaves.

Samantha and Cadence looking cute.

Group shot!

Scary group shot!
