Kipahulu and the Pipiwai Trail
The itinerary for today was pretty packed. It started with a hike along the Pipiwai Trail in the National Park. This wonderfully scenic trail follows a stream through Oheo Gulch through sweet-smelling guava and dark bamboo forests before reaching 400-foot Waimoku Falls, a truly breathtaking waterfall and one of the largest on Maui. After lunch we further explored the park by taking the coastal trail to the Oheo Gulch (aka. The Seven Sacred Pools) and then driving to the church where Charles Lindbergh, the world-famous aviator, is buried. We finished off the day with a sunset dip in the Venus Pool.
