Day 8 - July 12: Fundy, Salmon River & Alma Beach

Today was another busy day for us. In the morning we had planned a rather ambitious hike along the Upper Salmon River to get one of the park geocaches. Although only Rubby completed the whole trek to the cache, we had lots of fund playing in the pools of water and among the rocks by the river crossing.

For lunch we decided to head to a little lake near the Visitor Centre called MacLaren Pond, which was the subject of one of the questions on Samantha's naturalist passport. We also stopped to play a bit at the playground.

In the afternoon Rubby drove off to do another long hike for a geocache while the kids went to the Alma Beach to explore the area during low tide. Samantha had fun playing in the pools of water and discovering and identifying some of the creatures she'd learned about during the interpretive events.

After supper we went and did a few geocaches around Alma. Then Rubby took Sammy to a campfire event near our campsite. There were songs, plays, and best of all... hot chocolate!
