November 12: Punta Ninfas

Today we debated whether we should head back to Peninsula Valdez but we decided instead to take a chance on a lesser known excursion that Rubby had found described on the internet... Punta Ninfas. It sounded interesting enough... elephant seals, some fossils and a view of the entrance to the gulf where we might be able to spot some whales. We figured we'd go all the way out to the point and then make a couple of stops along the way back to see an interpretive trail, a marine ecocentre and a native cultural place. In the end Punta Ninfas was so spectacular that we stayed there most of the day and skipped all the rest and headed instead to El Doradillo, another excursion featured on the www.welcomeargentina.com site where you could purportedly see the right whales amazingly close to shore.

This being our last day in the area, we were extremely frustrated that there was so much stuff that we didn't have time to see!
