Geocaching Along the bike Path

having fun in the car during the ride over to quebec.

sam doesn't waste any time... she is off

but maybe a little too fast, she hurt her ankle

christopher kisses it better

snack time already?

i think the sugar is making christopher a little loopy!

lots of nice views along the path

we find our next treasure

while looking for this treasure, 3bearsss show up and help us look.

i take a couple photos in the tree hole to see if I can spot the cache.

mrs. 3bearsss reaches in and feels around... and comes out with the cache! :)

christopher like that it took us a while to find the cache... it meant he could play ploumps.

back on the path, we had to cross a bridge.

but wait!... what is under the bridge?

that's right... another treasure!

the kids check out what's inside.

now back to the bikes.

sam crawls in to retrieve the next treasure

while poppa checks out the view instead.

not only did the path provide nice views... it also smelt nice

another look out.

christopher can fit through the bars... not a good thing with a cliff and rapids below.

cheese!

i couldn't decide which one was cuter... so I'm posting both photos.

the kids also enjoyed the views.

this was the site of an old hydro / elctrical station.

but that was years ago.

rubby with a poison ivy sign... he will never learn!

a heron & a shipwreck.

the heron was doing a little fishing.

what's up there?

an oriole.

looks like we need to turn off the main path

sammy doing good even on the grassy path.

a good in a nearby pond

a goose laying a golden egg?

sam easily finds the treasure in this big tree.

the kids with the treasure.

there were lots of orioles around today.

kids playing in the tree.

hello!

honk! honk!

christopher playing ploumps

samanthat doing the "old bamboo" routine from chitty chitty bang! bang!

momma tries to teach christopher to skip rocks.

rubby is rock hopping.

a few more rounds of ploumps

the gulls seem to like the old building.

we start heading back to the car.

lots and lots of poison ivy!

a pair of wood ducks

if these are violets... then why are they yellow?

there were lots of sign of the old town that used to be here.

sometimes walking is easier than biking.

check both ways before crossing.

some ducks on the water.

we had to stop and smell the lilacs.
