kaiserwelt

This morning it was not raining when we got up and the clouds didn't look too bad so while Rubby got the kids ready for the day. The new plan: hike over to Brixen, take the lift up and hike over to Kaiserwelt, a playground that we'd never gone to see before. Opa was game to come along so after he finished his breakfast he packed his stuff and off we went.

The weather was variable but it didn't put us off. playgrounds are often more fun when the weather isn't stellar... it keeps the tourists at bay which gives us (grown-ups included!) more opportunity to play on all the structures. The kids loved Kaiserwelt and Christopher got a bonus when he got to see a helicopter and cement mixer working hard on top of the mountain building a new ski lift.

After having collected several more hiking stamps along the way, we were happy to make it to the Brixen tourism office in time to get our bronze hiking pins. In total we hiked about 19km today (Samantha included) and Christopher probably hiked about 8 or 9 of those!
