Looking for Manatees
Puerto Rico - January 16, 2024

After checking out a few places with no luck, finally discovered what used to be the hot spot to see manatees. This place had parking, bathrooms, camping, boardwalks, observation tower, etc. But the hurricane not only devasted the man made structures, but also the landscape, and the manatees are no longer here (or at least I didn't see any). It did look like they were digging new channels for the manatees, but who knows when this will be done and if the manatees will return. And as I was leaving this area, I came across a stray puppy who was struggling to even walk. I'm not a dog person, but I felt sad for this little guy.
