Ellmi's Zauberwelt

This morning we went to Uri's to meet up with Opa. Annemarie drove us to Ellmau via Reith so that we could catch the 9am lift with the Hartkaiserbahn, a funicular that goes up to Ellmi's Magical world.

The weather was a little cloudy but promised to clear a bit and the cooler weather allowed us to enjoy the playground by ourselves for a bit. The kids ran from one play thing to another and we discovered some of the new things that they'd put up since last year. Then we headed into the magical forest where we discovered Ellmi's international friends, a wizard who was stuck under a giant stone, Wally the owl, goblins, the Austrian Hoabergoas (who comes to get bad little children at night) and finally Ellmi himself with his treasure. We also saw lots of strange mishaps from some of Ellmi's spells gone wrong.

Back at the playground we enjoyed an activity of panning for gold and after a quick lunch and some more play time, we even managed to squeeze in a second activity of wand painting. By this time Christopher was starting to tire and we still had a long hike back which included a little stop at the Jochstubn restaurant before heading back to Westendorf.
