Austria

August 7 to 29, 2010

Although we visited Austria last year, we decided to come again this Summer. We love the amazing hiking opportunities and the kids were so excited to go visit all their favourite mountain playgrounds again as well as discovering some new ones.

Last year we went for 28 days in June and ended up seeing rain on 27 of those days. This year we hoped and prayed that July would be a better month and for the most part it was. Opa seemed to bring some good luck weatherwise

Highlights of our trip included several challenging hikes up to Kroendlhorn and Grosser Rettenstein, a visit to Tirol's only ice cave, and, of course, Opa's retirement party which featured a beer tent at Uri's house and a roasted pig.
