“Roi” = (old river flow)
On top of just being a beautiful green space to explore, the park has cultural significance too. It has the first fresh water source on the island that is still used up until this day.
There are many caves in the park and it’s no wonder that that’s where approximately 5000 years ago “Archaïsche” Indians lived as well as the “Keramische” Indians about 1500 years ago. I saw bats in the cave I went in, but didn’t see any of the Indian drawings in the cave I was in.
There is a warning sign saying that this is a humid area, so check before sitting down as there are scorpions and millipedes that bite.
There are several lookout point along the trail, including one where you can sit and watch planes takeoff / land.
