There may have been a quicker way to get this cave, but I took the route I found online., where you park at Playa Santa Cruz, then make the 2km hike to the Blue Room Cave location.
And in the end I’m glad I didn’t find a shorter way, the hike was very scenic. It passes another beach and a couple inlets. And the second half you are walk along the top of the cliff edge looking down into the incredibly blue water.
I was expecting to see other tourists when I arrived, but I was the only there. It was sunny out, but a passing storm had just gone by not too long ago and the waves were a bit rougher than other days, so maybe the tour boats decided it wasn’t ideal to bring tourist here.
In order to get into the cave you need to dive under water and swim ?? meters until you get into the cave. But the cave entrance isn’t obvious, so as I floated in the ocean alone with wave bobbing me up and down, I looked around, and I couldn’t figure out 100% where the entrance was, so I decided not to go dive under in the hopes that I guessed right.
A bit of a disappointing, but as adventurous as I am I also want to live to adventure another day (and yes, there have been deaths here). Even getting out of the water afterwards was a challenge and I got sucked back in and scratched up a bit… so it made me think my decision was the right one.
But as I stated at the start… the hike alone was worth the time I spent here. 😊
