Iceland: Day 4 - Skallagrimsgardur in Borganes

Skallagrimsgardur (the garden of Skallagrim) is located along the coast in the town of Borganes. This is the site where Skalla-Grim Kveld-Ulfsson is said to be buried. Skallagrímur is known as the third settler in Iceland. Most of the district of Borgarfjörður is said to have been his property. He died at old age at his farm, Borg at Myrar. He was succeeded by his son, the warrior-poet Egill Skallagrímsson (ca. 910-990) made famous through the Egil's Saga.
