On the way to Myvatn we had a picnic of sandwiches and stopped to view another famous Icelandic waterfall - Goðafoss (God's waterfall). This is the site where Þorgeir - the lawspeaker who decided that Christianity should be Iceland's official religion at the historic Alþing in 1000 - destroyed his pagan statues by pushing them over the falls.
Goðafoss is horseshoe shaped like Niagara falls but a bit smaller.
(rubby is on the rock cliff to the right -- see the orange dot?)
It's amazing to see the force of the water.
A bit of sun lighting up the falls on an otherwise cloudy day.
