Once again, the start of the day consisted of a lot of driving. we passed by the exit to go up to the arctic but we would have to come back on another day since the next ferry crossing wouldn't be for another few days yet. along the way we stopped to see some more sheep round ups, churches, and to say hello to a few cows.

The guidebook described this church at Blönduós as an "astonishingly ugly concrete church designed to resemble a volcanic crater."

The cows in iceland are much smaller than the ones we're used to and there aren't very many of them.

Viðimýri - the present turf-built church dates from 1834 and has been extensively restored to its original form.
Viðimýri is widely considered to be one of the purest and most beautiful examples of traditional Icelandic architecture.
