Iceland: Day 10 - Akureyri (revisited)

Coming back to Akureyri we stopped across the bay to take a picture. Seeing one of the famous sheep crossing signs decided this was a perfect opportunity for a photo op with Winston.

Winston is a stuffed animal. Having been originally bought on a trip to Iceland by Andreas, this trip was a homecoming of sorts for Winston and hundreds of roadside sheep (not to mention Rubby driving the car) got to hear "Winston says HI!"

After the "sheepish" photo op, we stopped briefly in Akureyri to check out the library (which no longer has free internet access like the guidebook claimed), did some people watching, did some souvenir shopping (bought a children's book on trolls) and stopped at the Bonus to get some groceries.

The snow-capped mountains flank each side of Eyjafjörður.

Across the water, Akureyri is nestled near the end of Eyjafjörður.
